What is Ad Infinitum?
Ad Infinitum is an atmospheric first person horror game which takes place in a surreal World War I setting. The player will find himself in the trenches of a forlorn battlefield, not knowing who or even where he is. In the search of answers, challenging puzzles need to be solved and deadly traps and obstacles must be overcome, while vicious mysterious creatures lurk in the shadows. The surreal game world is based upon historical background information that is mixed with fictional elements. This all culminates in a subtle yet intense story told through the environment, objects in the game and in-game cutscenes, as the player slowly unfolds an unspeakable truth.

Yes, we will do a closed beta near release.

No, we believe the best VR Games are specially crafted for VR and Ad Infinitum is a classic PC Game. We want to bring the experience of Ad Infinitum not only to people who own a VR Device. We tried it in VR, it works and it is basically possible.

Where do you draw inspiriation for the game from?
History itself. We are working together with „History Matters“ (University Hamburg) to ensure authenticity. For the fictional part of the game we are influenced by artists like H.P. Lovecraft, Zdzisław Beksiński, Ivan Solyaev and Junji Itō. As for movies, Guillermo del Toro is a huge influence, but the movie Deathwatch also captures a lot of the emotions and the athmosphere we are trying to deliver. Games like Soma, Amnesia, Silent Hill 2, Bioshock, Layers of Fear, Vanishing of Ethan Carter are some of our favorites.

We are a young, small German indie game studio consisting of former games master students (HAW Hamburg). We have different backgrounds such as programming, game design, art and sound. And of course, we all are passionate gamers!
